Frequently asked questions
1. Why the change?
In the future, KLARA will fully align the point-of-sale system’s direct payment integration with KLARA Payments. This will bring the point-of-sale system, payments, and administration more closely together. It reduces technical dependencies and simplifies support because fewer external interfaces are involved.
Integrations with third-party providers such as Nexi, SumUp, Worldline, or others create additional technical interfaces between the point-of-sale system, the terminal, the payment provider, and support. These interfaces make operations more complex and can complicate error analysis. With KLARA Payments, KLARA will be relying on a directly integrated solution going forward.
You can keep track of all your payments and payouts in one place in KLARA. At the same time, support can review both the cash register and payments together, allowing them to assist you more directly. This makes operations easier, more transparent, and more stable.
2. What you need to do
The sooner you book your appointment, the better we can plan the transition together. This will give us enough time to review your current situation, answer any questions you may have, and determine the best time for the transition.
Direct integration with external payment providers will be discontinued as of October 31, 2026, and will no longer be supported. Book your appointment now so we can plan the transition with you in a timely manner.
Book your personal appointment. Together, we’ll discuss your current POS and payment situation, answer any questions you may have, and outline the next steps toward activating KLARA Payments.
3. How the transition will take place
The transition will take place step by step. First, you'll book an appointment. Then we'll review your current situation, plan the setup, address any hardware requirements, and guide you through the process until KLARA Payments is activated.
Together, we’ll figure out how your KLARA point-of-sale system is currently set up, which payment provider you use, and whether you need a new payment terminal. We’ll also discuss possible contract terms, the best time to make the switch, and answer any questions you have about the process, costs, and support. If needed, we’ll also check whether a suitable switch offer is available for you.
No. You don't have to prepare for the transition on your own. KLARA will guide you step by step and show you which details, preparations, and next steps are relevant for your business.
4. Payment terminal and hardware
That depends on your current situation. Together we'll determine which terminal you're currently using and whether it can continue to be used for KLARA Payments. If a new payment terminal is needed, we'll find the right solution together.
There's no one-size-fits-all answer to that. The key factors are your current payment provider, the device you're using, and your current connection. That's exactly why we'll review your setup during a personal consultation and find a solution that's tailored to your needs.
Together, we'll determine how many cash registers and payment terminals are in use, how they're currently connected, and how the transition can be planned effectively.
5. Operations and transition
Yes, in principle, you can continue to use your existing solution until the transition. It’s important to plan the transition well in advance of October 31, 2026, if you want to continue using your KLARA POS system directly with a payment terminal.
No, we'll plan the transition together with you. The goal is a smooth transition that fits your business and avoids unnecessary disruptions. Together we'll determine the right time for the switch so that your day-to-day operations continue without a hitch.
Once activated, your point-of-sale and payments will be integrated directly through KLARA Payments. Your payments and disbursements are viewable centrally in KLARA. If you have any questions, KLARA Support can assist you more directly because your point-of-sale and payments are connected within the same system.
6. Contracts with third-party providers
We'll discuss your specific situation together and determine what the next steps should be. It would be helpful if you could check the term, notice period, and contract terms of your current payment provider in advance.
We’re happy to help you prepare to cancel your service with your current payment provider. Our support team will show you what you need to check and provide you with relevant information or ready-made templates, depending on your situation. This will make it easier for you to initiate the cancellation process in a timely manner.
Together, we'll review how your point-of-sale system is currently integrated and what options are available for switching to KLARA Payments. The sooner you book your appointment, the easier it will be to plan the transition.
7. Costs and terms
KLARA Payments offers transparent terms with no hidden fees. The exact terms depend on your business and your transaction volume. We’ll discuss the details that apply to you in person.
Not every business is in the same situation. Transaction volumes, hardware used, the number of terminals, and existing contracts can vary. That’s why a personal appointment makes sense — so we can take a close look at your specific situation.
Whether there will be any additional costs depends on your current situation. Factors such as hardware, existing contracts, or the required setup are relevant. Together we'll determine what applies to your business.
