Set up KLARA online presence

With the KLARA online presence offer you can build your professional website, connect your own domain, communicate news and offers to your customers and connect and publish everything with your Google My Business profile. 

  
Chapter 1

Set up website

Please have the following information ready.

  • Opening hours - Your opening hours including special opening hours on public holidays.
  • Company logo - A symbol for everything your company stands for.
  • Company picture - Shows what you do or in which area you work.
  • Your offers/services - You can present your offers or services. Have a short description and a picture ready.
  • Meaningful images - You can upload several meaningful images for the "Impressions" module. 

Verify your company in KLARA (if not already done).

In order to use KLARA Online Presence , your company must be verified on KLARA. If you have already done this, you can go straight to the next step.

Verification: Go to "Verification pending" in the KLARA main dashboard and order the authentication code. This will be sent to you by KLARA by post to your specified company address. Then enter this code in KLARA and your company is verified.

With your verification you can not only connect KLARA to Google, but also benefit from the advantages of electronic wage report:  Setting up wages

1. Configure website.

Personalize the website to your taste. KLARA will help you:

  • Color suggestions, based on your company logo
  • Background
  • Typographies (fonts)

You can also select the languages in which your website should be displayed.

Now define whether you want to display the name of your website next to your logo in the header and what your footer should look like. The preview function will help you with this.

Good to know.

Note that you must first save before you can see your changes in the preview function. 

2. Module "Introduction"

Now upload a suitable cover image for your website and describe your company. You can define a main button for your homepage that prompts visitors to your website to take a specific action.

Good to know

To leave a lasting impression on visitors to your website, choose a high-resolution and meaningful cover image.
Use the practical translation function and have the description of your company translated directly. 

3. Structure the website

Modules: You can freely define the order in which the modules should be displayed. Only the "Introduction" module is always at the top of the start page. You can move all the others to the desired position using the "hamburger menu". Try it out!

Pages: Would you like to subdivide your website? Create additional pages to provide your customers with a simpler overview. For example, you can display your contact form on a separate page.

Good to know

Use the "Add more" button to find the "Available modules". You can click on them, hold them and move them to the "Drag here" field. If you no longer want to present one, you can drag it back accordingly. 

4. Module "Your opening hours"

You can edit the opening hours of your locations in the "Company" menu under "Work locations & opening hours".

Do you have several locations of your company that you would like to display on your website? No problem. Simply tick the locations you want to display.

Good to know

You can edit the opening hours of the branches in the 'Company' menu under 'Work locations & opening hours'.

You can adjust special opening hours in KLARA at any time, for example before public holidays or during vacation periods.

5. Module "Contact form"

Offer your customers the opportunity to contact you at any time via a contact form. Define the mandatory information and the email address to which the contact forms should be sent. To integrate the 'Contact form' module on your website, go to "Add more" and move the module to the left.

 

6. Free-form section

Draw attention to your services and offers here. You can display from 1 to 4 different lines per free form. Add a meaningful image, text and an action.

Good to know

You can add various free-form modules all over your website. The title of the area is also automatically displayed in the navigation in KLARA. Don't forget to move the section up to the active modules.

7. Image gallery

Upload your best pictures here. Show your business, your services or your products. Give an insight into your company.

Good to know

You can use the two overlapping lines (hamburger menu) to determine the order of your images.

8. Videos

Add the videos you want to show here. This is often an image film, a film about your offers, etc. Simply copy the URL from the browser into the area provided in KLARA. As soon as you click on "Save", the video will be displayed in a preview.

You can link either Youtube or Vimeo videos. 

Good to know

Do you have several videos? No problem! Use the "Add more videos" button to link further videos.

9. Team

Present your employees here. If you have entered employees in KLARA, you can display them directly. Drag them up into the field. You can also present external employees via "Add other person". These can be freelancers, for example.

 

  
Chapter 2

Create your own domain

As soon as you define the website via KLARA, KLARA automatically creates your domain based on the company name. If you already have a domain or would like to assign a name of your choice, you can connect the KLARA domain to your existing domain or register it directly with KLARA.

Go to "Online - Configure" in the menu on the left. 

 

  
Chapter 3

Set up online news

1. Synchronize special opening hours on Google.

Keep your opening hours recorded in KLARA up to date and also record special opening hours, public holidays and company vacations. These are synchronized directly to Google. This prevents your customers from unexpectedly standing in front of closed doors or always knowing when your business is open.

Good to know

Make sure that Google synchronization is active. To do this, the "Automatically update your company's marketing information" flag should be activated.

2. Publish news, offers or events on Google.

Now enter your news, offers and events in KLARA to make your (potential) customers aware of you.

Make sure that Google synchronization is active. To do this, "Publish your news, events and regional deals automatically" and "Update your company's marketing information automatically" must be activated.

As Google checks your content, it may take some time before it is published. As soon as your news, offers or events are published on Google, the corresponding icon will turn green. If the Google icon is red, this means that your content has not been published on Google. To prevent this, please make sure that it complies with the Google guidelines.

Good to know

1. Your company data, news, offers and events are not only published on Google, but also on the free SME online portal klara-regional.ch and the associated KLARA RegioApp.

2. Your customers who follow you on the KLARA RegioApp will be informed by direct notification as soon as you publish news, offers and events. You can find more information about this here.

  
Chapter 4

Set up Google connection

Synchronise your company data with Google.

Click on "Connect KLARA to Google" in the "Online" menu. A pop-up window will appear to log in to Google. If you do not have an existing Google e-mail address, you must create one now.

Now you can start with the synchronisation settings:

If you have an existing location, KLARA will automatically suggest it to you. If not, create a new location. If this is owned by someone else, you can request the ownership of the location from Google. You will find more information here or contact our support .

You can choose between two synchronisation options.

  1. Update your company's marketing information automatically
    Your details (opening hours, address, description, logo, header image) are synchronised with Google. This allows you to reach more people and benefit from Google's range.
  2. Publish company news, offers or events automatically on Google
    In addition to the company data, this offer allows you to publish further information about your company via Google: Your news, offers and events. 

Good to know

1. Synchronization: This can be deactivated for a desired time and details can also be adjusted later if you do not want your content to be published directly on Google.

2. Multiple locations: Currently, you can only synchronize your KLARA account with one location in Google. Multiple locations are not yet supported.
